Dewald has dedicated his career to numerous aspects of the private and public healthcare industry. Following a career at Air Liquide, he
founded Executive Active Management Practice, a company which provided a range of strategic and operational services to medical institutions
where he developed and managed five private hospitals with partner Netcare and Community Hospital Holdings. Following the sale of the
hospital group to Netcare, he was pivotal in the acquisition and reverse-listing Medical Scheme administrator, Medscheme, through AfroCentric,
where he served as CEO from 2008-2016.
Andre is not only a qualified chartered accountant but is considered a specialist in injury management and related IT systems. He was the
CFO and COO of the Road Accident Fund (RAF) for 8 years before partnering with Medscheme in backlog administration of RAF for the last
18 months. He has detailed knowledge and experience in the functionality of injury management which includes the full lifecycle of
claims processing, form lodgement, verification, merits investigation, quantum investigation and litigation. He was previously a Senior
Finance manager at CS Holdings Ltd, responsible for mergers and acquisitions.
Ettie is a qualified attorney and MBA graduate. She joined Medscheme in 2005 and was until recently a Specialist in Legal, Governance,
Risk and Compliance at AfroCentric. She was seconded as CEO of Bonitas Marketing, an AfroCentric company before rejoining AfroCentric
in 2015. Before Medscheme she was in practice, specialising in High Court litigation, commercial law, personal Injury claims, matrimonial
law, labour law and BEE compliance and was also previously a Legal Officer for RAF.
Joe is a qualified chartered accountant and managed his own Corporate Advisory company for the last 12 years, specialising mainly in corporate
finance activity in the Healthcare Industry. He is a former non-executive director of AfroCentric and has been instrumental in the
acquisition and reverse-listing of Medscheme into AfroCentric He was part of the team of specialists to start and establish a black-owned
hospital group for service delivery in under-serviced areas. He was previously with IDC for more than 8 years where he amongst other
functions, established the Healthcare funding business unit. Joe has a wide range of experience across all sectors of health care and
Rachaad is a Qualified Actuary previously employed by Bonitas Marketing Company, part of the AfroCentric Group, at the Executive level
and as Marketing Actuary executive for the Bonitas Medical fund. Before Bonitas he was acting in various consultative actuarial roles
for various companies in the insurance industry. Rachaad specialises in developing new products and his previous experiences have been
in Life, Investments and Pensions with specialist experience in the Marketing and short-term Medical side.
